President Donald Trump secured the release of three UCLA basketball players who were facing 10 years in Chinese prison after a shoplifting incident.

The three players, Cody Riley, LiAngelo Ball, and Jalen Hill were on a trip to China where they were accused of stealing designer sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store in Hanzhou. The minimum sentencing for shoplifting goods of equitable value to those sunglasses was at least 10 years.

The incident occurred during President Trump’s trip to Asia. While in China, he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and asked if he could help with the situation. Jinping agreed to look into the matter, but no final solution was reached before Trump left to return to the USA.

While on Air Force One, Trump told the press that is was a “very tough situation,” one that “shouldn’t have happened.”

The following day, the charges were dismissed and the players were released.

Several hours passed, and neither the players nor their families have reached out to thank the President for saving them from a decade-long imprisonment in a communist country not known for its hospitality towards foreign thieves.

“Do you think the three UCLA Basketball Players will say thank you President Trump? They were headed for 10 years in jail!” said the President in a tweet.

Odds are, he won’t get a thank you. Why? Because the radical left believes that the President is an ultimate evil.

UCLA is not politically impartial. Like its sister campus at Berkely, UCLA has entertained a lively radical left sect of its student population and surrounding community, particularly when conservative speakers arrive on campus.

So far, the only gratitude shown to Trump was a formal thank you from Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott. Even then, Scott took the opportunity to mention that UCLA also made “significant efforts,” on behalf of their players.

Yeah, right.

If the President was not respected by Jinping, the Chinese would never play ball. They would have used it as leverage against the United States over something else, like trade or the Southeast China Sea flashpoint.

This time, the Chinese made a show of good faith, likely because Trump has been hammering and embarrassing them over their failure to rein in Kim Jong Un. Trump pressed them even further on this issue while he was in China, and now Jingping intends to send official Chinese personnel to Pyongyang.

Things are actually moving in Asia, and its all thanks to Trump.

If you need any more proof, just look at how dismal the USA’s relationship was with China during the Obama years. They didn’t lift a finger over North Korea. When Obama went to China, they didn’t create all the pomp and circumstance that Trump received, instead, Obama was made to exit from the back of his plane and enter through a more hidden passage.

President Trump has been in office for 10 months, and already our relationships with the world’s other powers are stronger than they’ve ever been. By all standards, the nation and our interests are safer than they’ve ever been.

No worries, though. The Left will always find a way to be childishly petty.
