But Ewan! Why haven’t you put Little Britain on the list yet? Calm down, we’ll get to it eventually. I just thought we’d talk about the thing they did after that. Mainly because I preferred this sketch show to Little Britain, and I’ll be explaining why that is in this very article.

Now yesterday I did an article on the deterioration of comedy and how the prime age of comedy was the early 2000s. Come Fly With Me is another example of how comedy has deteriorated. It’s certainly not a bad show, but the standard of comedy has most certainly dropped. How has it? Go and read my article.

The show has a very respectable 7.5/10 on iMDB, which I suppose isn’t too bad. Walliams and Lucas provide us with another six episodes of sketch comedy that vaguely link together. I’m a huge fan of sketch shows, a lot of people are. Honestly the most notable argument for this show is that it was made by the guys that did Little Britain, so it must be good.

That argument sort of works. The show is slightly hit or miss with its content. Luckily it’s more hits than misses though, there are some interesting characters. Of course, with this huge variety of characters, the show has been called a bit racist. I would argue against this, they’re just punching at stereotypes of every race and culture, it’s not intentionally racist but I see why people may think it is.

Casting wise there isn’t much to say, it’s primarily just Lucas and Walliams. This really means they’re very inventive in the ways they produce sketches. The two main characters of each sketch are Lucas and Walliams, or just individually. It works surprisingly well and makes for some great moments, really highlighting that they’re funny alone.

Overall, is it worth watching? Well, yeah, it’ll take you two and a half hours to watch every episode. It’s on Netflix for those who have that. But for myself and other DVD collectors, it’s available on Amazon for the very reasonable price of £5.99.
