The first of many animated TV Shows. I thought we’d start with Futurama, mainly because it’s the best animated show I’ve seen. But Ewan! What about The Simpsons, Family Guy and other shows?

Well you raise a good question. There’s a number of reasons I’m putting Futurama at number seven. (I should point out that the numbers are not in ranking order).

Firstly it’s because Futurama has actually ended. It ran for a good length of time and got seven seasons. It has now ended. Most other animated shows are still ongoing. The two examples that I listed above are still ongoing. Futurama knew when to stop.

And that’s an important thing with TV Shows. They need to know when to stop. It’s as important as the episode they’re producing. Having a TV Show go on for too long is bad for business. Not only bad for business, but bad for fans too. I’m looking at you The Big Bang Theory.

1999 – 2013. That may look like a long time, but we only got seven seasons. Season five was just four movies broken down into sixteen episodes too. On top of that, Futurama was cancelled. Twice.

But anyway, what’s it all about? Well, it follows Fry and the Planet Express crew. A futuristic delivery service that doesn’t really deliver anything as far as I can tell. Fry is from the year 2000, accidentally frozen and sent one thousand years into the future. There he meets Bender, Leela and a whole host of other colourful characters.

Futurama has an all star voice cast. It’s truly fantastic. John DiMaggio may be the name that sticks out most to you. He’s the voice of Jake the Dog from Adventure Time and Marcus Fenix from Gears of War.

Billy West is the voice of Fry, The Professor and Dr. Zoidberg. The only other thing I could find on him is that he voiced Tom in the Wizard of Oz spin off film they did.

But anyway, Futurama is hilarious. Go give it a watch.
